What drives the price
The price depends most on how many screens and features the product has, whether it connects to other systems, and whether users sign in or pay. An app that only shows information costs far less than one where users pay and get notifications.
Remember the time after launch too. Apps need updates when Apple and Google release new versions of iOS and Android, and servers and other services have monthly costs. We include that in the estimate, so you know what the product costs in its first year.
How we estimate
After a first conversation we write down what we've understood, what the first version should include and what can wait. You get a fixed price for the agreed scope, or a monthly budget if you'd rather work on an ongoing basis.
If the budget is smaller than the wish list, we suggest what should come first. It often pays to launch a smaller version and build on it based on how it's used.
Common questions about pricing
Why do the quotes we get differ so much?
Quotes for the same idea can vary a lot because suppliers have understood the scope differently. Ask what's included: design, testing, launch on the App Store and Google Play, and operations after launch. With us, it's in the estimate.
Can we start with something smaller?
Yes. We can make a clickable prototype that you can test with users or show investors before you commit to the full product.
What does it cost to keep an app running?
With us, operations cost from NOK 5,000 a month. On top of that you pay for the servers and other services the app uses. Apple charges USD 99 a year for a developer account, and Google charges USD 25 once.
Do you work on a fixed price or ongoing?
Both. A project has a fixed scope and price. A partnership has a fixed monthly budget with ongoing design, development and operations.
